Day 97 - Plan to Succeed
Danielle Sapienza
“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.” - Proverbs 15:22 ESV
Success looks different for everyone, but we can agree that we don’t want to be foolish or make plans rashly. Making plans without prayer and godly counsel isn’t just foolish. The Bible says that without counsel, our plans will fail. Therefore, it is good to surround ourselves with people who are strong in the Lord and have a wide area of expertise and life experience. The book of Proverbs is full of verses about seeking wisdom and applying good advice (Proverbs 15:22, 11:14, 12:15, 19:20, 20:18, 18:17, 27:17). Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the purpose of the Lord will prevail (Proverbs 19:21). When we seek wise counsel, we avoid unnecessary detours on the path to our purpose.
Next Steps
- Think about it: Is there a goal or plan in your heart that you need to run by wise counsel?
Think about it: Who are your mentors? I suggest having Christian mentors to advise you in multiple areas. For example: leadership, finance, marriage, parenting, health, etc.
Action Step: Consider the areas of mentorship listed above. Contact one person who has succeeded in an area you’d like to succeed in, then ask them to meet with you to learn more from them.
