Discipleshift: Always Maturing Together (Part 2)
Definition of a disciple (from last Sunday):
Our Discipleship Pathway (from last Sunday):
Two examples of what always maturing together looks like:
1.
As God calls us to ongoing transformation, we have to keep in the very front of our minds,
2.
So this is a clear Biblical value, that our love for God and our love for others should always be maturing, always deepening.

SMALL GROUP GUIDE
SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS
WARM UP: What’s the best team/group you’ve ever been a part of? What made it that way?
HEAD: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
- Last week, Pastor Peter used the phrase “always maturing together”. Review Ephesians 4:11-16. Stop and notice every reference to maturity and maturity together.
- Can you find any reference at all to individual “personal” growth in this passage? Is that significant?
- In the sermon, Pastor Steve highlighted two aspects of always maturing together, the first was:
- What only God can do. (Ephesians 2:1-4, John 15:5)
- In what situations do you trust yourself more than you trust God?
- In what situations do you delight in focusing on what only God can do?
- What only God can do. (Ephesians 2:1-4, John 15:5)
- The second was:
- A deepening commitment to love. (John 15:12, 1 Peter 1:22)
- Do you find yourself growing in openness/depth with others?
- What excuses do you use to keep people at a distance?
- A deepening commitment to love. (John 15:12, 1 Peter 1:22)
- We’ve been focusing on “always maturing together” for two Sundays now. What do you believe is the most important area of growth the Holy Spirit is pointing you towards?
