The danger in hoping for the next phase to come is that you may rush through a vital role they need you to play during that phase.
Just as your kids go in and out of different development phases, you as a parent must
transition through different

In order for your adult kids to want to be around you when they no longer have to be around you, you must navigate these parenting phases in the
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

The Discipline Phase
Hebrews 12:4 “In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.”

Hebrews 12:5-6 “And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, ‘My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’”
