Sermon Summary

Peter exhorts us to be good stewards of God’s grace, thus being hospitable without complaining and using our gifts freely given by God to serve others, to bring Him glory.

Verse of the Week

1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Going Deeper

Review 1 Peter 4: 9-11

1) In 1 Peter 4: 9 Peter admonishes us to “show hospitality to one another without grumbling”. The preacher also shared an example of when he grumbled while extending hospitality to someone.
a. Share your personal experiences of extending hospitality to others.
b. Was there any grumbling on your part, and if so, why?

2) In Acts 16: 15, Lydia extended an invitation to Paul and his companions to come to her house and stay.
a. Would you consider designating a room in your home to host missionaries, ministers or other Believers?
b. If not, what is preventing you?

3) In Romans 12:6-8 Paul speaks of Gifts of Grace.
a. Which of these gifts do you believe you have been blessed with?
b. Have you used them to serve others and glorify God, and if so, how?

4) Have you ever had a need but were too independent, too shy, too scared, to share that need and ask for help? Was it really all those things or was it just pride?

5) Last week the preacher indicated that there are just under 100 “one another” statements in the New Testament. Outside of those specifically referred to here, what are some other ways we can “one another” one another, to build community?
