
John 6:5-9:
v5 - When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? v6 - And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. v7 -Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
v8 - One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, v9 - There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves and, two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
Life Point:
Everybody wants to accomplish something big, but big comes from a whole lot of smalls put together.
Every acorn has the potential for big things!
4 Small Seeds that Produce a Huge Harvest
1. Seeds of Character (Pr. 10:9, Gal. 5:22-23)
- Obtain Good Character:
Proverbs 10:9
He who walks with integrity walks securely.
3 Characteristics of Character:
1. Character is simply doing the right thing.
2. Character is who you are in the dark.
3. Character embraces all of the fruit of the Spirit.
Gal. 5:22-23:
v22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
v23 - gentleness, self-control.
Life Point:
Character is refined over time
Psalm 66:10
You O God have tested us. You have refined us as silver is refined.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words. Like silver tried in a furnace of earth purified seven times.
Proverbs 25:4
Take away dross from silver and it will go to the silversmith for jewelry.
2 Timothy 2:21
Cleanse yourself from dishonor to be a vessel for honor.
- Maintain Good Character:
Life Point:
When it comes to character, you have to maintain what you obtain.
Song of Solomon 2:15:
Catch us the foxes,
The little foxes that spoil the vines,
For our vines have tender grapes.
Ecclesiastes 10:1
Dead flies putrefy the perfumer’s ointment, and cause it to give off a foul odor; so does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honor.
Life Point:
Your last impression is your lasting impression

2. Seeds of Faithfulness (Lk. 16:10-12)
Luke 16:10-12
v10 - He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
v11 - Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
v12 - And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
3 Levels of Faithfulness:
- Personal
- Financial
- Ministerial
Life Point:
If you are too big to do small things, you are too small to do big things!

John 14:15
If you love me, keep my commands.
John 15:14
You are my friends if you do what I command.
Life Point:
Many times we are waiting for God to give us our next instruction, but He is waiting for us to follow His last instruction.
3 Outcomes of Obedience
1. Little boy’s lunch fed the multitude.
2. Widow’s mites out-gave everyone else.
3. Woman who fed Elijah still ministers to us today!
1 Kings 17:8-16
v8 - Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying,
v9 - “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
v10 -So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.”
v11 - And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
v12 - So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”
v13 - And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.
v14 - For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ”
v15 - So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.
v16 - The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.

1. Seeds of Character (Pr. 10:9, Gal. 5:22-23)
2. Seeds of Faithfulness (Lk. 16:10-12)
3. Seeds of Obedience (Jn. 14:15, Jn. 15:14)
4. Seeds of Love (Mt. 10:42)
Matthew 10:42
And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.
Life Point:
Keep doing the smalls, and you will make a big difference for Jesus!!
