• Your dream that God has for you will always be about the advancement of the gospel. It will always fall in line with scripture.**

John 15:8 - This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Joshua 1:11 - “Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your supplies ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.’”

• Following God’s dream will be a mixture of blessings and battles

Three steps that God told Joshua to do in possessing God’s dream.

Step 1. BE EAGER TO FOLLOW HIS PLAN

Joshua 1:1-3 - After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them — to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

Joshua 1:11 - “Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your supplies ready.

• When we START dreaming, the enemy starts scheming.

• The enemy will always distract you and discourage you and fill you with *FEAR that prevents you from being eager to follow his plan.*

Step 2. STAY IN HIS WORD

Joshua 1:7 - Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

• God’s promise of success in your life has everything to do with your commitment to His WORD

How do you stay in the Word?

 “Don’t let it depart out of your mouth.” talk about the Word of God.

 “Meditate on it day and night” think about the Word of God.

 “Be careful to do everything written in it” be sure to always do and obey it. Live the Word of God.

Step 3. TAKE A COURAGEOUS STEP OF FAITH.

Joshua 1:6,7,9 - “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. …9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 3:15-16 - Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam…

For most people the first step in following God’s dream is always the hardest.
