Real Talk | Group Guide
August 1, 2021

For Group Leaders: during the summer we’re providing one Group Guide to walk Groups through each series. Choose from the questions below and then work through others as you continue to gather this summer.

Connect:
• Describe a favorite trip you’ve taken and why it stands out.
• What’s the best story you’ve told?
• What object represents your current view of God?
• Have you ever entered into a spiritual conversation with a stranger? What about a friend or neighbor?

Engage:
• Read Acts 17:22-31. As we come back to basics, summarize what is the Good News.
• Read Isaiah 52:7. What does this verse say to y our life?
• Read Romans 10:14-17. Who told you about Jesus?

Apply:
• What stops you from initiating a conversation about Jesus?
• Which type of fear catches you from sharing? (fear of rejection, failure etc.)
• When have you felt compelled to prove your right?
• In Scotty’s message, he gave us 4 steps to take:
1. Start more conversations
2. Listen before you speak
3. Find common ground
4. Tell the story of what God has done in you
Which do you need to pursue most?
• What have you seen God do in your life?
• What “what ifs” hold you back? Name some that encourage you as well (what if they turn to Jesus etc)
• Who are you going to invite to church or start a conversation with?

Pray:
Pray for more conversations.
Pray for slower speaking and quicker listening.
Pray for clarity in what God has done in you.
Pray for the opportunity to see fruit and perspective in planting seeds.

Bonus:
We recommend reading Reluctant Witness by Don Everts, the book this series is based on.
