#7: The Ace of Spades
Part of "Take a STAND!"—Winning the War Within
July 26, 2020

// Who sits on the

of your life?

// Since worship got you

this mess, worship will also get you of it.

// Worship is the

of .

// Worship doesn’t just

the war,
it the war.

How did Jesus win the war with worship?

1) He

Scripture.

Matthew 4:4, 7, 10
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

2) He was

with God

Matthew 26:38-39
[Jesus said,] “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

// When you dwell

Him, you rest Him.

// Protection is not the same as

.

Psalm 91:9-10, 14-15
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.”

3) He gathered his

around him

“The only reason the enemy would come against you is because he sees value in you. The only reason he would try to force you to think something like “I’m worthless,” or “No one wants me,” or “I’m never going to win,” is because it’s not true, and he wants to throw you off the trail of your God-given greatness.”
