Questions:

  1. When you read in John 17:20 that on the night before Jesus went to the cross, He prayed for you, how would you describe your reaction(s) to that fact?

  2. Jesus’ specific request for us is that we would be “one.” What does a church being “one” look like, in your opinion?

  3. Why is unity so essential? What happens to a church that is divided?

  4. What does a church need to be doing to be “one” as Jesus was asking? What can you do to contribute to The Lakes Church being “one?”

  5. According to Jesus in Mark 10:42-44, how is leadership in His church different from leadership in the secular world?

  6. When you read in Mark 10:45 that Jesus came to serve by giving His life as a ransom for you, how does that affect your desire to serve Him by serving others?

  7. In Romans 12:6-8, Paul describes each member of the body as having received different gifts in order to serve the body. What are your gifts? How are you using those gifts to serve the body and build up the others in the church?

  8. Thinking further regarding your spiritual gifts, what steps do you need to take to be using your spiritual gifts more fully in the life of The Lakes Church?
