When it comes to religion, many people will tell you that any old road will get you to God. But the Bible is very clear that there is only one path to God.

Why do you think so many people believe there are multiple ways to “god”?

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. —Proverbs 14:12 (NLT)

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. —Proverbs 21:2 (ESV)

Most of us choose the path we are on because it seems right to us.
How can this be problematic?

On the road of life… not every path is worth taking. Not every path will take you where you want to go… And many of those paths will hurt you. In order to live a successful life there are some paths you need to stay away from… you need to SEPARATE yourself from those paths.

What does it mean to separate from other paths?

“Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.” —Leviticus 19:2 (NIV)

What does it mean to “be holy”?

In order to be holy, we need God’s help. But some people try to be holy on their own.

What might it look like if people try to be holy without God?

One way is by exalting rules and regulations over relationship with God.

Why can’t simply following rules make us holy?

This does not negate the need for rules nor the expectation to do certain things, but our motivation must be correct.

What might be the proper motivation for doing “what is right”?

Walking with God is the practice of staying on His path and separating yourself from anything else.

You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. —Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV)

What does this verse mean for your walk with God today?
