Day 193 - What to Pray - Pt.3
Cathy Anderson
“It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.’ 2 And He said to them, ‘When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation.”’” - Luke 11:1-4 NASB
Give us this day our daily bread.
God wants us to rely on Him, depend on Him, and acknowledge Him for being the One that meets our needs. Every good gift is from Him alone (James 1:17).
Apart from Him, we may be able to function in this life. You might get a job, buy a house and a car, and pay your bills. But with God, He will provide more than you can ask or even imagine! Psalm 50:10 says God owns “the cattle on a thousand hills.” This verse tells us that EVERYTHING belongs to Him!
He is a perfect Father, so he will always ensure His children have what they need and nothing less. Whatever your needs are, present them to God, and He will provide for you!
Next Steps
- Think about it: What are your biggest needs right now?
- Action Step: Pray and ask God for what you need. One of the most exciting things you can do is write down what you ask God for. Put the date you prayed, and then start to check off the list. Imagine how fun it will be to identify what He provides for you!
