Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read 1 Kings 20:1-30 To this point we have seen no redeeming qualities of Ahab. He is in the line of progressively godless kings before him. Yet, God chooses to use Ahab to communicate to and through Israel, God’s people. Today, mediate on how God uses even an imperfect king to reach His people.
• Tuesday: Read Exodus 3-12. Pay attention to God’s desire to make Himself known as the Lord. While events like the 10 plagues capture our attention, the point was to demonstrate God’s desire for personal relationship and revelation of His available power. Today, thank God that His desire in every headline is for a personal relationship with you and to remind you of His power available to you.
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read 1 Kings 20:1-13, in v13 the Lord compares the size of Syria to Israel’s size. Yet, His promise is that through the victory of war Ahab will know that He is the Lord. Today, pray to God for a changed perspective to see Him as the Lord of your “wars”.
• Thursday: Read 1 Kings 20:1-15 The Lord specifies to Ahab what He is to do and what will happen. Today, seek the Lord for His specific direction.
• Friday: Read 1 Kings 20:1-24 Syria sees god like the false god’s of the world (a) limited in location (b) limited scope of power
• Saturday: Jesus, Christ is the Lord! Through His coming into the world, Christ followers now can know and be transformed by God. Read any three passages from the last two bullet points from our Sermon Notes (SN). Let the truths of those passages lead you into prayer to a God that calls you into relationship with Him and deposits His power in you.
