The gospel of Jesus Christ testifies that the reason the physical world exists, is that God, the creator of the heavens and the earth who is all powerful, all knowing and present everywhere created the physical world from what was already a reality in the spiritual world.
That the only reason that anything in our tangible lives has any meaning and purpose is because it was given meaning, purpose and life by the creator who lives in a reality that is not inherently physical.
The Creative Power of the WORD of God:
Genesis 1:1-3 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Followed by 7 more “And God said” statements to complete the creation story.)
The state of the earth (physical realm) - formless, empty and dark. • No form or purpose, no life and no light.
The Word comes (spiritual realm) - “And God said…”
• Speaks the purpose and life and light into existence.
The Spirit of God activates (brings the Word or the spiritual power and reality to a physical manifestation.)
The Word Becomes Flesh:
Jesus steps from spiritual realm into our physical realm to show us the reality that the intangible realm is more real and consequential than we understand.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:14 - The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace (God’s power) and truth (God’s reality).
The Word not only creates, but also desires relationship with the Creation:
Jesus came to us as God in the flesh and as an example of what a human being looked like who was so connected in relationship to his creator that he spoke, thought and manifested everything that his Father in Heaven spoke, thought and manifested.
We Are Called To Be Spirit-Led People:
Jesus promised that he would send the Holy Spirit after he left this earth to allow us to maintain the same, intimate spirit to spirit connection He had with the Father.
John 14:25-26 - These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
The promise of Jesus to all those who would believe in Him was the Holy Spirit.
• To teach us all things (God’s reality, his truth)
• Then, as we followed the Spirit’s leading, to manifest those truths and spiritual realities in us and the world around us.
• The Holy Spirit is a truth teller. He brings the word of God.
• The Holy Spirit also activates the Word of God once we agree with it. (He is the Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Power).
• “The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is the same Spirit that lives in you also.” Romans 8:11
1. To Be a Christian is to be a Spirit-Led Person
Acts 15:28 - For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:
If we’re honest, we think more like this: “It seemed right to me, so I did it and then asked the Holy Spirit to anoint it and make it work.”
A Spirit-Led person is a Spirit-First person. We must receive God’s understanding before weattach our own understanding.
2. A Spirit-Led Person Carries Authority
In the Kingdom of God we receive authority when we remain under the Holy Spirit’s authority.
Matthew 8:8-9 - Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go, and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
3. A Spirit Led Person Just Speaks the WORD!
The Word of God is designed to manifest itself in our reality just as it did in the creation account.
Isaiah 55:11 - so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
The Holy Spirit will not authorize what the WORD of God has not said.
• LOGOS - The wisdom, logic, principles that God has spoken and displayed through His Word.
• RHEMA - The word spoken by the living voice. (The “now” word of God spoken by the Holy Spirit to your situation.) Prophetic Words, Holy Spirit inspired thoughts and strategies to cause freedom and breakthrough.
We have to be diligent to seek out the written word.
We must also put our lives in a posture like Samuel in the temple to continually say, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”

6- Give an example of a time you spoke the Word of God over a situation in your life and saw the power of God come through.
