Handout 1
In view of God’s righteousness, and in view of the necessity for the requirements of his law to be satisfied, I hereby declare that the requirements of his law are being satisfied or will be satisfied in my life in one of the two following ways:

I have always satisfied and always will satisfy all the commandments of God’s law, in every way required by his holy character.

_ I have NOT always satisfied the commandments of God’s law, and therefore acknowledge that I must satisfy its penalty, i.e., I must spend eternity in hell.

                    Signed,
_

Handout 2
In view of the fact that I am a sinner (a lawbreaker), and thus must satisfy the penalty aspect of God’s law in order to uphold his righteousness, I hereby choose the following way of satisfying the penalty of his law:

_ I will satisfy it myself by spending eternity in hell. I choose my wages!

_ I will humbly accept the fact that Jesus Christ has satisfied this penalty for me, thus allowing God both to justify me as sinner and at the same time uphold his own holy character. I choose GRACE!

                    Signed,
_

When has grace felt like a gift?

How do feel about the fact that Jesus had to keep the commandments yet still suffer the penalty?

Why do you think people hear of grace yet choose the “works”?
