These are the sermon notes for January 6th and 13th.
My relationship with God must be intentionally invested in if it is to flourish.
“Anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
Remember daily that I am deeply loved by the Creator of the Universe. Speak this truth out loud. It thrills my Heavenly Father and adds a spring to my step.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1
Talk to God throughout the day, like He is right there with you (because He is).
“I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
Spend time listening to who God says I am. According to Him I am “fearfully and wonderfully made”. Don’t let my thoughts lead me elsewhere.
Smile, laugh and sing to God like I have just been set free from a sentence of death (because I have.) Let my emotions respond to God’s GOODNESS.
“When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalm 126
Remember this journey is going to finish well, so SMILE.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:1-5
