Questions for Spiritual Growth

Our Cornerstone mission is To Know Christ and Make Him Known. Community Groups help us to live out our mission as Family, Missionaries, and Servants.

  1. Why is it wonderful to be a son of God?

  2. How is adoption different from salvation and justification?

  3. Like all humanity, Jesus was born under the Law (verse 4). But how was Christ different from other people in His relationship and response to the Law?

  4. What is the connection between the work of the Son and the work of the Spirit?

  5. According to verse 6, how does the Holy Spirit give us assurance of our adoption by God? How does this compare with Romans 8:15-16?

  6. What does verse 6 reveal about the type of relationship God is desiring to share with His children? Are you experiencing this type of intimacy with God? Why or why not?

  7. Community Group as Family: What are some ways you can grow in appreciation for the other members of your church family?

  8. Community Group as Missionaries: A neighbor complains that they are isolated and lonely. How can you demonstrate care for them and explain to them the intimate relationship you enjoy with God?

  9. Community Group as Servants of Christ: How do you view your service to others in the name of Jesus? Is it a burden or a blessing, a drain or a joy?
