Message Notes
What scares us from building things that God calls us to?
- Fear of failing before others and God.
- Fear of being alone in the process of building.
- Fear of not knowing what will happen (fear of the
unknown).
Defining moments happen when we face our fears and run towards the God who is able!
“By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.” —Hebrews 11:7
“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” —Genesis 6:5 (NIV)
tā·vä’ : vessel — something that holds/carries something.
Three Defining Moments in Noah’s Life:
1 - Noah’s Care
- Ark builders are people that are willing to do whatever it takes to obey God, even if it means looking foolish.
“for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground.” —Genesis 2:5-6 (NIV)
- Defining moment Truth #1: God will never give you something to build without giving you the clarity of what exactly to build.
2 - Noah’s Challenge
- Ark builders are people that will trust God with the hard things.
“This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.” —Genesis 6:15 (NIV)
- Defining moment Truth #2: Your passion to build an ark will be born out of your connection and obedience to God.
3 - Noah’s Commitment
Ark builders are people that are willing to stick with “it” no matter how long it takes.
Defining moment truth #3: Your commitment to the Lord must never have an expiration date.
Practical Application
Pick your Ark to build.
Resolve to stay inside the Ark.
Be patient until the Ark does what God purposed it to do.
