Everyday Jesus Notes 2.12.23
February 12, 2023

Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.

Monday: Read 1 Thess 4:13-18, Lev 19:28, Dt 14:1,2; 2 Sam 12:20-23, Mk 5:39 Our understanding of the return of Christ shapes our lives now. First it impacts how we grieve death. Read the passages above and ask the Lord to deepen your perspective of grief you’ve felt for loved ones. In addition, seek the Lord to know how to live now, as you grow in understanding the truth of what is to come for the dead in Christ.
Tuesday: Read 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:12-34 If Christ didn’t rise from the dead then we have no hope, not only in His return but also in the life we live now. As you read today, begin praying for stronger conviction and clarity of the resurrection of Christ and how that stands as your ultimate hope for overcoming sin in your life now and spending eternity with God in the future.
Wednesday: [Day of Fasting] Read 1 Thess 4:13-18, Matthew 16:27, Acts 1:6-11 The Lord will return bodily and physically for His people and gather them to Himself. The return of Christ is a bold underline of Christ’s authority. We find so much to worry about, but Christ’s promise is He will return for us and take us out of this world. Pray on that today, and express to God either or both your questions and your points of hope for His ultimate return.
Thursday: Read 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51, After Christ raptures the dead in Christ up to the clouds, those alive will be raptured to meet them in the clouds. Then, Christ will take both groups of Christians to the heaven and so we will always be with the Lord. While now “for a little while” we are physically separated from Christ, ultimately He will carry us home and we will spend eternity with Christ. Praise the Lord for eternity with God
Friday: Read 1 Thess 4:13-18 Apparently the Thessalonians were being deceived about their relationship with Christ. In their shallow understanding about Christ’s love for them, they were discouraged. Today, ask the Lord to allow the truth of His return to encourage, how you live now and the rest of your days on earth. Be encouraged, He is coming back again.
