Matthew 28:1-8 (NIV)
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He is risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.”

Three Credentials that Set Jesus Apart:

1. His Impact on History.

2. His Fulfillment of Prophecy.

3. His Resurrection from the Dead.

• It Means You Can Trust Him

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Psalm 37:5 (NIV)
Commit you way to the Lord; trust in him…

Psalm 33:21 (NIV)
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

Isaiah 26:4 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.

Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV)
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord…

• It Means You Can See Him and Know Him

I John 1:1-3 (NIV)

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

• It Means You Can Be Filled with Joy

I John 1:4 (NIV)
We write this to make our joy complete.

• It Means You Can Have New Life

Romans 6:4 (NIV)
“…just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
