In order for the Word of God to “work” — to operate in your life; and to reach its intended purpose/destination…. It has to be activated!
The Word of God has the Truth of God in it, however it has to be activated for you to experience that Truth!
The Word is activated by action - a response, meaning you have to do something. If there is no action, there will be no activation.
Hebrews 4:12 NLT
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
The Word is alive and has the ability to separate the soul and spirit and expose your innermost thoughts and desires. So it’s alive but it will not work for you if don’t take action and activate it!
2 Timothy 1:12 ESV
12 which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.
James 1:22-24 NLT
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

James 1:25 AMP
25 But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience].
The Word of God is a like a mirror and God is telling you and I, “Don’t just walk by! Stop for a while, don’t just glance at it, look intently at the Word of God and it will tell you exactly what you look like.” The Word of God will show you the real you!
The Word is the Truth of God, the revelation of Jesus Christ, and the promises He died and resurrected to give to us. However, for you and I to experience those promises and reap the benefits, they have to be activated in our lives!
Psalm 34:8 ESV
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Isaiah 55:10-11 ESV
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heavenand do not return there but water the earth,making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;it shall not return to me empty,but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
