I. The Two Greatest Things God has ever done for You are:
A. The Father gave His Son’s life for you.
B. The Father gave His Son’s life to you – Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
C. This life of Christ (zoe) in you was to be light of men – John 1:4 (NKJV)
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
D. When Jesus was born into this earth, He became the Light of the World.
II. The Greatest Thing You can do for God is to “Arise and Shine”.
A. Now, it is your destiny to shine as the light of the world.
1. Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
a. Your light does not shine to those around you if you put it under a basket.
b. Be a lampstand Christian.
c. Shine through your good works.
d. Good means useful, profitable, beneficial, and generous to others.
e. Perfect your love walk – Put God to work in other people’s lives.
2. Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
a. Good works are your destiny.
b. Never underestimate the power of good works.
B. “Arise and Shine” is our part in the Final Harvest - Isaiah 60:1-5 (NKJV)
1 Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. 5 Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
1. Your light has already come; now, you have to Arise and Shine.
2. God’s glory will make you shine.
3. Light is God’s weapon against darkness
4. Multitudes of lost people and leaders will come to the glory of God risen upon you.
5. God’s glory will rise upon as His goodness is manifested through you.
6. Romans 2:4 (NKJV) says that is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance.
7. God’s shining glory will reach those close and those far away.
