Message Notes:

SERIES MAIN IDEA:

When you are saved, Jesus renews you spiritually into a new person.

After you are saved, Jesus empowers you to transform your heart and mind.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.

MAIN IDEA:

When it is hard to be thankful…
Expressing things we are thankful for allows God to transform our hearts.

1 Thess. 5:17-18 (NLT)

17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Colossians 4:2 (NLT) (from prison) Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

TAKE HOME:

We can always think of something to be thankful for.

The things that matter most should never be at the mercy of the things that matter least.” —Goethe

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
