
1 Peter 1:13-17
13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile…..
1) I need to remember that God has
Genesis 2:3a So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy…..
Exodus 3:5 “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”
Exodus 15:3 “Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’
Deuteronomy 7:6 “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
2) I need to remember my holiness is more about
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
3) A desire for holiness should cause me to reorient every
Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord….
Ephesians 5:27 …so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
