Connect & Care

Discover Suntree 101/102 meets in the Dining Room on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 4 - 6pm. You’ll discover ways in which you can grow spiritually and how to get more involved in the life of the church. You will also receive membership information should you wish to join our SUMC family. A light supper will be provided. Please email kathyl@suntreeumc.org to register or request childcare.

Scouting America Troop 720 is performing their annual flag retirement ceremony on Tuesday, July 22. If you have an American flag in need of retirement, please drop it by the Church Office. Questions? Email edward.dunne@gmail.com.

Please join the Space Coast Flute Orchestra for our annual Solo & Ensemble Concert next Sunday, July 27, at 3pm in the Sanctuary. The concert will include performances by Native American flutes, a recorder consort, a contrabass solo, piccolos, piano with flute & vocals, jazz flute, and a flute sextet.

Suntree United Methodist School is currently looking for a compassionate and energetic assistant kindergarten teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate should enjoy working with young children and support a nurturing, creative classroom environment. If you’re interested or know someone who would be a great fit, please reach out to Lia Page at Liap@suntreeumc.org.

Grow

Women’s Wednesday Morning Yoga - Starting on Wednesday, July 23, join us for Women’s Yoga every Wednesday morning from 9 - 10am in the Worship Center. Yoga is for EVERY body! Whether you use a mat or prefer a chair, this meaningful practice will lead to better balance, movement, agility, and peace. This 1-hour class is taught by certified yoga instructor Stacey Herrington. The registration fee is just $20, and childcare is available upon request. You can register at SuntreeUMC.org/Women.

Join us for a Women’s Ministry Brunch on Thursday, July 31, at 10am with a light breakfast in the Dining Room. Feel free to share vacation photos and plans for the fall or just catch up. If you have never attended a Women’s Ministry event, this is a relaxed time to come and meet some new friends. Please register in advance online at SuntreeUMC.org/Women so we know how many to expect.

Serve

Our Mission of the Month for July is Harbor City Elementary School. Over the past several years, we have partnered with Harbor City Elementary. Throughout this month, we will be raising the funds to ensure that over 400 children have what they need to purchase school supplies. You can give by using the special envelopes in your bulletin or by going to SuntreeUMC.org/Give and selecting “Harbor City” from the drop-down menu.

The SUMC Christmas Bazaar will be Saturday, Nov. 1. While you are inside escaping the Florida heat, now is a good time to stay inside and collect items to donate. The Unique Boutique will accept new and slightly used clothing and accessories, the Book Nook is looking for used books, and the Christmas Regifting section is asking for new or gently used “regift-able” items. For questions, or to secure a vendor table at the event, email Pat Ryan at patryanx@gmail.com.

Give

Because of your generosity, this week, our Youth Ministry hosted “Brevard Mission Week”, where students had the opportunity to serve all of Brevard County and showed our neighbors what extraordinary love looks like!

SUMC Permanent Endowment Fund: Ministry leaders are reminded that ministry areas may apply to the Endowment Committee for support of needs that are not part of their annual budgets. $4,604 remains available for grants. Guidelines for submission of requests may be gotten from the SUMC website (https://www.suntreeumc.org/give/permanent-endowment-fund/) or from Richard Turner (321-259-1646 for voicemail; seastar5@cfl.rr.com), the Endowment Committee chair. Please submit proposals by Thursday, Aug. 7, to be considered at the Committee’s next meeting.

Youth & Children

Second, students, we have BYOB&L (Bring Your Own Bible & Lunch) this Wednesday and then LODGE Wednesday evening! Plan to be at both! They’re awesome. Also, pick up our Summer Packet, and you’ll find all the dates, times, and places for everything we have planned in our youth ministry this summer!
