Does God Really Care?

There is one thing Jesus Himself said you need over anything else and not having this one thing in your life has led to millions of people and well-meaning believers live mis-aligned and mis-understanding God.

Jim Carrey once said,
I wish everyone could get rich and famous and everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that’s not the answer.

Proverbs 17:24 says, “An intelligent person aims at wise action…a fool starts off in many directions

Are you are serving God but wonder if God sees you and we say, ‘GOD, DON’T YOU CARE?’

Luke 10:38-42 (NKJV) where this very same question is expressed by one woman, and caused the view of her sister and circumstance to be tainted, and in frustration say’s
LORD – DON’T YOU CARE!

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

As Martha was in a certain village – a place, a situation…you can enter certain circumstances and easily get caught up.

Maybe just as Jesus entered a certain village, He has entered your life, you’re trying to serve Him, and are actually caught up in the serving, and not the HIM!

In the topic of ‘DOES GOD REALLY CARE’ let’s look at how we carry too much and care too much to see how God carries us and cares for us!
This causes mis-understanding, mis-alignment, and mis-appropriating of our lives and those in it.
The Bible says in Job 9:25 (NKJV) – ‘My days are swifter than a runner, they flee away
- Do you ever feel like that?
- But are you running in the right lanes?

Psalm 39:5-6 (NKJV) – ‘Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah…surely they busy themselves in vain
- Even in our best state of being, it’s like a vapor

1. WE CARRY A LOT: (we carry too much)
Reasons Why:
We live in a society that has too many choices.
There are a lot of social pressures.

• We often care rightly, but please wrongly…
• We often care more for those least important to us and care less for those most important to us.

Prov. 17:24 (GN)
An intelligent person aims at wise action, but a fool starts off in many directions.”

We think more is better.
Jesus said the secret to more is…less – carry less – not too much
John 15:2 (b) – “Every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit”
Eccl. 4:6 (NLT) says – “but it is better to have one handful, with peace of mind, than two handfuls with hard work and chasing the wind.”
A final reason we carry too much is – DISTRACTION – Which Martha was. What are you being distracted with?
You can choose distraction or destiny.

2. WE CARE A LOT – (We care too much)
When Martha was distracted, it troubled and upset her
.
- She was doing something good
- Something for Jesus and His disciples, as the older sibling, it was a custom to prepare something…
- But she had her priorities backwards
- And even questioned God’s care for her

God say’s, “Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” – 1 Pet. 5:7 (NKJV)
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

You could either surrender to the circumstances around you and be controlled by them or sit at the feet of Jesus and be changed by Him.
This tells you what and who is God in your life.
You can either trust God or play God.
And Jesus says,
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matt. 6:33)
And He will take care of the rest!

We need to shift from how we carry too much and care too much to how God carries us!

3. HE CARRIES A LOT: See what God carries and how He carries you)
God doesn’t just carry a lot, He created all things and holds it together…the Bible says

There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live.” 1 Cor. 8:6 (NLT)
It say’s He is – “sustaining the universe with his powerful word” – Heb. 1:3b (GN)

A secular physicist and atheist wrote in university textbooks,
“it might even seem the universe is exquisitely tuned, almost as it to accommodate us”
And it is has to be controlled in such a precise way, and key factors have to exist together at once for complex life to exist.
How delicate and precise?
The symmetry of our universe is so precise that the chance of matter being produced is 1 in 10 billion. If the chance went down by 0.5 in 10 billion it would be too low and no galaxies would exist and everything would vaporize.
If the chance went up 2 in 10 billion the universe would collapse and be a big black hole.
If the mass balance of the universe was off by one dime’s worth – it would vaporize or collapse.

4. HE CARES A LOT
And if God can hold the universe together by the word of His power How much more will God hold and sustain you?
You need to trust His plan, His promises, His ability to carry you and care for you!
Jesus said
, “till Heaven and Earth pass away, His Word will by no means pass to all is fulfilled.”
Shift from carrying too much and caring too much by re-aligning our perspective and priorities to see How God carries all things and cares for us more than those things!
• And the greatest thing that God created wasn’t the universe – it was you!
• The greatest thing He carries isn’t the universe but was on the cross of Calvary

If you are wondering if God truly cares for you
The answer to that question isn’t in answering the question but asking a different question.
• Martha was distracted, worried, troubled, and questioning the care of God in her life.
• She knew enough about Jesus to come to Him, but she mis-understood Him.
• Mary was at peace and wasn’t questioning God’s care in her life while doing less.

The question isn’t, ‘does God really care?’ But, ‘am I sitting at His feet and hearing His word?
- Am I sitting and hearing?
- Am I taking time each day to talk to Jesus in prayer and listen to Him by reading His word and obeying it in faith?
- Then you will know His heart and promises for you, not just that He is there or mis-understand Him.

When you find yourself questioning God’s care for you, remember He doesn’t change, never leaves or forsakes you, is good and does good, and ask, ‘have I become disconnected from knowing Him, not just about Him?
