Our Beloved Family (Part 2)

Ephesians 5:6-14

Icebreaker - Can you imagine living in a world without the sun? How has your mood been impacted by a long string of dreary days?

  1. How have empty words or unfulfilled promises negatively impacted you?

  2. As a declaration of a new identity, what are the implications of verse 8 (personally, and also collectively as a Church)?

  3. In your own words, what things can/should a believer do to discern what pleases the Lord (vs.10)?

  4. Can you identify an evil deed of darkness in society that was commonly rejected years ago, but now is widely accepted? How are you standing firm in your mind and exposing the darkness around you?

  5. In what ways do the shows we watch or the music we listen to compromise our standards and beliefs as Christians?

  6. Stop to think about the following: You may be the only child of light that your friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member will ever encounter up close and personal. How are they seeing, hearing, and learning the bad news of sin and the good news of Jesus Christ from you?

  7. Read Matthew 5:14-16. What could happen if the Church lived as an active lighthouse of hope to our community?
