Praying With People
Main Point: Every Christ-follower can, and should, become comfortable praying with people.
• Pray now!
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. —Matthew 6:5-8
Praying With Someone
• Don’t make it a show
• Keep it short
• Keep it simple
• Remember your role
• Pray boldly
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. —Colossians 4:5-6
• Don’t waste the opportunities.
• Be gracious and wise with your words.
• Pray with shameless audacity (Luke 11)
Takeaway: When the opportunity comes to pray with someone - take it, and let God do the rest!
