Long Story Short
A New Future
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
How to Change Someone’s Future:
I.
4 I always thank my God when I pray for you, Philemon, 5 because
I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for
all of God’s people. 6 And I am praying that you will put into action
the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and
experience all the good things we have in Christ. Philemon 1:4-6
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander,
as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each
other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through
Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32
II.
Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your
kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.
Philemon 1:7
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or
proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable,
and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about
injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never
gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through
every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
III.
17 So if you consider me your partner, welcome him as you would
welcome me. 18 If he has wronged you in any way or owes you
anything, charge it to me. 19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I
will repay it. And I won’t mention that you owe me your very soul!
Philemon 1:17-19
