Mark 10:46-52
GET THIS: Mercy makes us new people. And mercy keeps making us new people.

The Source of Mercy: See Mark 10:47
The Mercy Detractors: See Mark 10:48
Mercy Received [v49-50 & 51-52b]
See Mark 10:49-50 Jesus initiated here! And Jesus voice spoke louder than the detractors!
See Mark 10:51-52b
Mercy Makes New [v50 & 52c]
See Mark 10:50 (again) Mercy makes us believe God can! It changes our value system! Open hearts and open eyes are worth more than comfort and money.
See Mark 10:52c He followed Jesus on His way… Jesus is headed to Jerusalem for Passover… but Jesus is headed there to die.
Bartimaeus might have very likely seen the death of Jesus with his newly opened eyes. Mercy Makes New!
If you’re not a Christian: See Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved…
If you are a Christian… Mercy KEEPS Making Us New People! Bartimaeus has his eyes open, his heart open, and I believe he follows Jesus to Good Friday and is in ear shot of Easter Sunday… and joins up at some point with the work of the First Church Planter Jesus! Mercy KEPT on making Him New! And the aftershocks continue!
1. Mercy will keep doing the same for you personally
2. Mercy will keep doing the same for All The “Us”’s The Families, couples, work relationships, friendships, etc
3. Mercy will keep doing the same for Barboursville and Beyond
4. Mercy will keep doing the same for Mercy Village Church Jesus will continue to build His church! Maybe this is the day you commit afresh to the work God is doing here… but regardless… Jesus is building His church!
Take Time To Reflect
(1) What do you need to cast-off to follow Jesus (in the same way that Bartimaeus cast off his cloak)?
(2) How desperately are you longing for mercy? How can you posture yourself as more humbly desperate?
(3) Who, this week, can you remind of the transforming power of God’s mercy?
GET THIS: Mercy makes us new people. And mercy keeps making us new people.
