Proverbs 15:8-23, John 8-11, Psalm 111-117, 1 Samuel 15-28

1 Samuel 1:11 “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if You will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to You. He will be Yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.”

1 Samuel 1:20 … in due time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, for she said, “I asked the Lord for him.”

1 Samuel 2:1-2 Then Hannah prayed: “My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies; I rejoice because You rescued me. No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides You; there is no Rock like our God.

1 Samuel 25:3 …Abigail, was a sensible and beautiful woman. But Nabal, a descendant of Caleb, was crude and mean in all his dealings.

1 Samuel 25:14,18-19 …“David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, but he screamed insults at them…Abigail wasted no time. She quickly gathered 200 loaves of bread, two wineskins full of wine… “Go on ahead. I will follow you shortly.” But she didn’t tell her husband Nabal what she was doing.

1 Samuel 25:23-24 When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed low before him. She fell at his feet and said, “I accept all blame in this matter, my lord. Please listen to what I have to say.”

1 Samuel 25:31 don’t let this be a blemish on your record. Then your conscience won’t have to bear the staggering burden of needless bloodshed and vengeance.

John 11:1,5-6 & 17 A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, He stayed where He was for the next two days. When Jesus arrived at Bethany, He was told that Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days.

John 11:20-21 When Martha got word that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him. But Mary stayed in the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

John 11:32-33 When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at His feet…Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within Him, and He was deeply troubled.

John 8:10-11 “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
