Take my yoke upon you. Let me

you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. —Matthew 11:29
Teachability is to remain a lifelong learner who is to the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit.

17 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. 18 Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him.
19 They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.20 But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. 21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have

that comes from him,
22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. —Ephesians 4:17-24
Ephesians 4:20-21 NKJV -20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is .

How have you learned Christ?

Learning Christ is:
1) Not simply learning doctrine, precepts or rituals, but rather an experiential knowledge in direct

to Him.
2) Learning Christ is Not learning and then remaining the same as you were before: .
3) As the truth that is .

Jesus is truth personified. He declared (John 14:6) “I am the way, the truth and the life.”
- He is the of all truth, the embodiment of truth and therefore, the reference point for evaluating all truth-claims.

Matthew 5:21-22; 27-28; 31-32; 33-34; 38-39; 43-44 (6 times):
You have heard it said to you of old … but __I say __to you …

Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and

the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. —Acts 17:11

Who teaches us?

  1. – 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” (NLT)
  2. - John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
  3. - Philippians 3:17- “Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.”
  4. (our own and others as well) - 1 Corinthians 10:11 – “These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.”

Exercise:
Read Proverbs and notice how many verses reference being teachable and receiving instruction.
Answer: What have I learned about God and myself in the last few months? Have I changed my mind about anything? What does this say about me and my journey with God?
