- Take some time alone or with your group and read through the following verses. (Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 26:3; John 14:27; John 16:33; Galatians 5:22; Philippians 4:7; Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 14:33; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Ephesians 4:3; Romans 14:19; Hebrews 12:14; Romans 12:18; 2 Timothy 2:22)
- Read Colossians 3:15. Why is the “heart” the place where Paul says to let the peace of Christ rule?
- What does it mean (what does it look like) for the peace of Christ to rule in the church?
- Read Matthew 10:34-37. How do we reconcile this statement by Jesus with all the other teachings on peace? (Ephesians 2:14-22; Romans 5:1; Colossians 1:20)
- On a personal level, what enemy of peace affects you the most? (worry, conflict, fear, etc.)
- Read Psalm 131:1-3. Why is humility essential in having peace?
- What noises in your life rob you of peace? How can you begin taking steps to “compose and quiet your soul”?
