If Money Talked It Would Say: “I can add meaning to your life, but I am not the meaning of life”
Idea: Money is a tool to be used to create meaning in your life
Luke 12:16-22
- Luke 12:19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.
- Luke 12:21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores us things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
What do you want people to celebrate about you when you’re gone? What do you want people to line up and thank you for in the end? If you don’t figure out your answer, your appetites and our culture will for you.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
This is a principle that works both ways. If you’d like to change where your heart is, change where your money is going
How do we allow it to add meaning to our lives?
Studying Scripture to follow Christ’s example and see how temptation has led people astray
The root cause of selfishness and means to poverty is alienation from God
Lead with generosity
Do not overvalue money
