Receiving the Kingdom — D-O vs D-O-N-E
• Religion is spelled D-O, and is all about trying to DO enough to please God. (and how can you know if YOU’VE done enough?????)
• The real problem is that God created us to be perfect, so no one can ever DO enough (Romans 3.23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,)
• But Christianity is spelled D-O-N-E.
• God, through Jesus, has DONE what we could never do. He lived the perfect life to satisfy the Father’s standard and died on the cross to pay for all the ways we violated the Father’s standards.
• But it’s not enough just to know this. We receive what he has done and submit to Him being God and Savior of our lives.
