1 Corinthians 4:20 | NIV84 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

We are the empowered people of God.

1 John 4:4 | NCV God’s Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.

There’s a difference between talking about God’s Spirit and surrendering the direction of your life to God’s Spirit.

Empowered by the Spirit, the church exists to reclaim the world for God with the Good News of His Son.

Acts 26:14 | NET “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? You are hurting yourself by kicking against the goads.”

Acts 19:15-16 | NIV84 You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’

Acts 23:11 | NIV84 “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

Paul appeals to Caesar.

Don’t assume what God hasn’t said.

2 Timothy 3:16 | NIV84 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Galatians 5:25 | NIV84 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Acts 27:20 | NIV84 When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.

Divine detours lead to ministry opportunities.

Acts 27:36 | NIV84 “They were all encouraged…”

Acts 28:4-5 | NIV84 When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, “This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.” But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

“Catching the wind” means listening to God’s voice above all other voices.

Acts 28:14 | NIV84 And so we came to Rome.

Acts 28:30-31 | NIV84 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just because you didn’t plan on something, doesn’t mean it’s not part of God’s plan.

Philippians 1:12 | NIV84 Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

Philippians 4:21-22 | NIV The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. All God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.

God will never take you where He cannot use you.
