Acts pt 2 Ignite
Unleashed on the Street

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote all that Jesus began to do and to teach.

—Acts 1:1a (NIV)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

—Acts 1:8 (NIV)

God desires to ignite the full power of the church to reach people one a time.

Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.

—Acts 2:43 (NIV)

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, (IDIOTASTE) they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.

—Acts 4:13,14 (NIV)

Many people do not take Jesus to the streets because they feel UN.
Unqualified
Untalented
Uninspiring
Unexperienced
Under-resourced
Unprepared
Uncertain
Unattractive
Uncompelling
Unemployed
Unessential
Unequipped
Unexciting
Unworthy
.

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

—1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. 11 While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade.

—Acts 3:1-11 (NIV)

USUALLY surprises connect to your daily routine.

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon.

—Acts 3:1 (NIV)

ALWAYS give what you already have.

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

—Acts 3:6 (NIV)

OFTEN boldness takes initiative first.

(Acts 1:3-5 NIV)
3When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

—Acts 1:3-5 (NIV)

Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

—Acts 3:7 (NIV)

Next Steps:
1. Today, I accept Jesus in my life for the first time.
2. I feel like an “UN” but desire to be empowered to be UNleashed.
3. I will began to do S.O.A.P. (scripture/observe/apply/pray) this week.
4. I will do one act of boldness for others this week as I take initiative.
