There are no feelings of obligation when it comes to serving in our family. We believe the church cannot function by the vocations of a few, but only by the commitment and sacrifice of the many. We don’t use the words “work” or “volunteer”, because we believe it is a privilege to be a part of what God is doing in our church and in our community. Our teams are full of joy and passion, and every team member plays a vital role.

1. Serving takes the focus off of
.
Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.
2. Serving
our faith.
James 2:14-18
What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him?
If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? In the same way faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself.
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith by my works.
3. Serving makes us more
.
James 4:17
So it is sin to know the good and yet not do it.
4. Serving makes us like
.
Mark 10:45 NLT
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
5. Serving helps
the Great Commission.
“There is a common, worldly kind of Christianity in this day, which many have – a cheap Christianity which offends nobody, and requires no sacrifice – which costs nothing, and is worth nothing.” – J.C. Ryle
