“I am Certain”
Philippians 1:1-11
Have you ever felt like you are “playing life too safe?” It is safe to say that within each of us, there is a desire to live our life “dangerously” for God. The author of Philippians (Paul) became a very dangerous person to the enemy even while in prison for advancing the Gospel. Paul is so confident and sure that God is real and at work in his people, that he is willing to trust God even in the midst of suffering.
Key verse:
“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
It’s not about holding on to our confidence, but it’s about holding on to
We are partners in the Gospel
“…I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel..” v4
God is at work in us together
“…he who began a good work in you…” v6
Live out your life with Jesus’ love
“…that your love may abound more and more…” v9
Action Points:
We must redefine what “church is.” God’s word tells us the church is people in relationship with Him and others, loving and working together to advance the Gospel.
Invite someone into your life as you follow Christ.
