The Kingdom is Near

The Kingdom of God is not something that was for then and there but we need to remember that it is here and now. Many of us spend our lives simply waiting to die and go to heaven. However, we are supposed to live our lives bringing heaven to earth. It is possible for us to live our lives in such a way that the Kingdom of God becomes evident to everyone around us.

The only way the kingdom of God is going to be manifest in this world before
Christ comes is if we manifest it by the way we live as citizens of heaven and
subjects of the King. —R. C. Sproul

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” —Matthew 4:17 KJV

God came

Jesus is God manifest in flesh, with the purpose of saving and redeeming humanity!

The rule and reign of

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. —Matthew 6:9-13 King James Version

God in the kingdom

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. —Matthew 7:7-8

“It is not what we do that matters, but what a sovereign God chooses to do through us. God doesn’t want our success; He wants us. He doesn’t demand our achievements; He demands our obedience. The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of paradox, where through the ugly defeat of a cross, a holy God is utterly glorified. Victory comes through defeat; healing through brokenness; finding self through losing self.” —Charles Colson

God in the Kingdom

“Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times, saying ‘I repent’ you must forgive him.” —Luke 17:3-4

God in the Kingdom

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33 ESV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. —Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. —Acts 2:38 King James Version
