Message Notes:
Main Point:
Rough seasons allow us to see a perspective that God wants us to see. No matter what season you are in today, “GOD WILL ALWAYS PROVE HIMSELF TO BE GOOD.”
We all have been in situations where our expectations were not met.
Why have faith if reality always wins?
A faith perspective will prepare me to walk into a new season. My perspective should be shaped by my faith in God, not my expectations. We limit ourselves to see how God sees.
Habakkuk
Chapters 1, 2, 3
Habakkuk 1:2
How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save?
Habakkuk 1:5
Then God finally responds to Habakkuk, “Look at the nations and watch — and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”
God is preparing Habakkuk for a New Season
Habakkuk 2:1
I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
God will intentionally take you through a challenging season because it is there your priorities begin to realign. You begin to reprioritize and refocus on Him.
Habakkuk 2:2
Then the Lord replied: “Write diown the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
Habakkuk 2:3
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The circumstances didn’t change, judgment is still coming. The only thing that changed was his perspective.
Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
The best thing you can do is take initiative to seek God out, when you do, you will be able to climb new heights.
Surrender will enable you to reach new heights.
The best part about walking into a new season is that it doesn’t depend on your strength or your ability, because we know that God is the one who gives us strength and ability.
