Discussion Questions
Pray together and ask God to reveal Himself through your time together. Then read out loud Genesis 49 and Genesis 50:15-26.
What do we learn in the prophecy of Jacob to his sons in Genesis 49? How do we see God being faithful in keeping His promises to the sons of Israel and to future generations in these chapters?
What does blessing mean in the context of the Bible and the stories of the patriarchs? How do these chapters connect with the words God spoke to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-2?
How has God blessed you? How can you use how God has blessed you to be a blessing to the world around you?
Read out loud Psalm 67. In this Psalm, we learn that part of the blessing of God is so that His “way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.” Talk specifically about how you can be a part of proclaiming the saving power of God among the nations?
To conclude our series, here are some ideas that we can consider so that we can be a blessing to the world around us:
- Praying for, or with, someone.
- Helping meet someone’s practical need.
- Encouraging someone with a text, a note, or a good word.
- Giving someone a thoughtful gift.
- Inviting someone to church or an Imprint Group, or doing something fun or meaningful with them.
- Listening to their story (ask them to share it!).
- Sharing the good news of the Gospel and how it has changed your life.
Which of these will you focus on this summer? How can each one lead to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
