How do you stay whole?

How do you live in the freedom and healing Jesus gives you, not just for a moment—but for a lifetime?

It’s like you’re walking through life half-full when you were meant to live full and free.

John 5:10-15

9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, 10 and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”

One of the greatest dangers to living a whole life: legalism.

Legalism is when people try to get closer to God by making rules

It will always try to steal your joy, burden your walk, and shift your focus from what Jesus did to what you’re doing wrong.

If we’re not careful, we’ll trade grace for rules and miss the miracle right in front of us.

Two Truths About Legalism

1.Legalism

us to the miraculous work of God.

2.Legalism ties us down to man-made rules and expectations.

But Christianity isn’t about rules—it’s about relationship.

It’s not a

of regulations; it’s a faith built on grace.

It’s easy to fall in love with yesterday’s method instead of listening for today’s instruction.

Legalism turns spiritual practices into lifeless rituals.

God didn’t give us the Holy Spirit just so we could trade Him in for a checklist. He gave us His Spirit to lead us in freedom and truth.

Here’s the real danger of legalism: it offers a false version of holiness.

Galatians 3:3
3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?

How Do We Reject Legalism?

1.

must emerge.

Go back to the Bible. Look at what Jesus actually says.

2.Conviction must be

.

Real freedom is found in godly conviction. Convictions rooted in Scripture are what keep you strong and steady.

3.Grace must be embraced.

Grace isn’t an excuse to ignore God’s will—it’s the power to live it out.

Four choices to make to live whole:

1.Decide to

legalism.

11 But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”12 So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?” 13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. 14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

2.Decide to Worship.

3.Decide to

Sinning.

14“See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

Jesus wasn’t just healing this man’s body He was after his soul.

Jesus didn’t free us so we could run back into chains.

Sin will always try to destroy the wholeness God has given you

4.Decide to Confess Christ Openly.

15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Do You want to live out the new life Jesus has given you? Tell people who changed your life. Let people know you’re a Christian!

The truth is, once you belong to Jesus, you’re not good at being a sinner anymore. So why not be good at being the person God created you to be?

Will you decide today to live whole?
