Are there any stories to be shared about ways that God has met anyone through the Bible this past week to restore order or light – purpose or capacity – dignity or rest?

How is your soul as you enter this holiday season? How can we be praying for you?

Psalm 119 is an extended reflection on the goodness of God’s law (Torah) that called God’s people into a relationship of order and light, purpose and capacity, dignity and rest. Try reading the opening verses responsively to open your time together. Psalm 119:41-56

Word: 2 Chronicles 34:14-33

Read the story of the discovery of the law in the Temple during Josiah’s reign.
Does anything stand out to you in this passage?

What was Josiah’s response to hearing the book of the Law? What clues does the story give about why he may have responded this way?

Who is the prophet that brings the word of the Lord back to Josiah? What is the message?

In verse 31, what does it mean to “renew the covenant”?

In this story, why is the book of the law/book of the covenant reliable to every day life?

In what ways have you misplaced the Bible, the book of God’s covenant, in your daily life? What would it look like this week to rediscover it?
