Growth Questions
These questions are to help you apply each week’s message to your life and to help others do the same. Can being honest and vulnerable about your life be intimidating? Is it OK to struggle and have real questions? The answer to both questions is “Yes.” Growth Groups are meant to be safe places where we share our answers to the questions below in order to help people know, love & serve Jesus better, together. If you’re not in one, email Pastor David Mataya (david@redeemeraz.org), and ask about availability. If you missed this or any message, you can go to our website, iTunes, Spotify, Facebook page, or our YouTube channel to get caught up.
How would you explain the amazing reality that is described in Romans 8:31? How might someone misuse this verse? How might this verse shape your life this week (your thinking, your actions, etc.)?
In what way(s) is Romans 8:32 most encouraging to you? What does Paul mean by “all things” (see also: 2 Corinthians 9:8; Ephesians 1:3; James 1:17; 2 Peter 1:3)? How have you experienced this in your life?
When in your life do you feel most “condemned”? What great confidence is given to us in Romans 8:33-34?
In Romans 8:35-39, which of the fears/hard situations that Paul mentioned are issues that you fear and/or grapple with? How does God’s inseparable love put (or should put) our concerns to rest? Why is God’s love for us among our most defining of identities as Christians?
Bonus: According to 1 John 4:7-11, how and why should Christians love others? Give an example of how this has become real to you in your life? In what areas do you see the need to improve in your love for others?
