Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

  • V4 - by faith Abel still speaks even though he is dead
  • V7 - by faith Noah built an ark to save his family
  • V12 - Abraham was as good as dead but by faith God brought
    descendants from him
  • V19 - by faith Abraham did receive Isaac back from death
  • V20 - by faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau’s future

Hebrews 11:23
By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

Exodus 2:1-3
1Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, 2and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

  • God does some of His most powerful work through the faith of unknown, behind the scenes people.

  • Don’t ever underestimate what God can do in the lives of people who live quiet lives of faith and faithfulness.

  • The greatest thing you can leave your kids and grandkids isn’t a trust fund it’s trusting in Jesus. It’s a godly character and a faith rooted in Christ.

  • God does some of His greatest work behind the scenes through the faith of people who trust God for the outcome.

  • Faith always works together with godly wisdom.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

  • Moses’ parents chose to hid their baby because they valued what God said about life more than what their government said about the value of life.

  • Faith isn’t some trump card you get to play so you can do whatever you want and then trust God to bail you out. Real faith, finishing faith, works together with practical biblical wisdom.

  • Finishing faith, works with practical biblical wisdom to accomplish God’s plan.
