Seasons
Ecclesiastes 3:1, NLT
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:2-8, NLT
A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time
to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to
mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time
for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:11, NIV
He has made everything beautiful in its time.
1. Seasons are Providential
Genesis 1:14, NLT
Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let
them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.
Genesis 8:22, NLT
"As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”
Psalm 104:19, NLT
You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set.
Daniel 2:20-21a, NIV
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He
changes times and seasons…”
2. Seasons are Purposeful
Ecclesiastes 3:11, NIV
He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Romans 8:28, NIV
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have
been called according to his purpose.
3. Seasons are Passing
Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it
springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in
the wasteland.”
Galatians 6:9, NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if
we do not give up.
When Seasons Change:
• Trust God with your future.
Jeremiah 29:11, NIV
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
• Keep walking by faith.
• Cling to what is unchanging.
Psalm 119:89, NKJV
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
Isaiah 40:8, NIV
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Hebrews 13:7-8, NIV
Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good
that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith. Jesus Christ
is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
