Life In The Spirit Romans 8
Six Ways The Holy Spirit Operates In Our Lives…
1. Romans 8:6, “…letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”
The mind that it is fixed on the carnal, will yield carnal results. The mind fixed on the Holy Spirit leads to life and peace.
What are you filling your mind with daily?
2. Romans 8:11, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”
YOU ARE EMPOWERED! That same spirit lives within you!
3. Romans 8:16, “…his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.”
“For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, *“You are God’s beloved child!” TPT
We have a Father who gave everything to be back in relationship with us! Sin took that from us in the Garden ofEden, and with a broken heart, the Father had to separate Himself from us. He simply cannot dwell in the presence of sin!
But through Jesus, His greatest passion was fulfilled, to be back in relationship with His creation!! Once again,we have fatherhood!
4. Romans 8:23, “…we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory.”
In Verses 18-25, Paul elaborates on the future glory for the believer! The day when sin no longer corrupts, and death and decay are laid aside.
This is in reference to God’s celestial kingdom and our eternal life in Heaven!
1 Corinthians 15:42-44
“42 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. 43 Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies.”
5. Romans 8:26, “The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.”
Paul sets up the intercession of the Holy Spirit on our behalf with the Holy Spirit recognizing our weaknesses first.
What a revelation to know that someone, God himself through the HS, recognizes our weaknesses, and steps out in groanings and prayers for us!!
God is loving us by allowing His Holy Spirit to come alongside of us and pray prayers that our weakness will not allow us to pray!
6. Romans 8:26, “The Holy Spirit prays for us.”
But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Often times, our prayers are for God to line up with our will! The Holy Spirit is praying that we line up according to His will, so that all things will work together for our God!
