OUR VISION & MISSION

At Experience Church we believe it is essential to do life together - You’ll often hear us say ‘Don’t do life alone.’ God designed us for community and we believe the local church is the hope of the world!

We like to say that we’re not a church with a mission but that God’s

has a .

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
2 PETER 3:9 NIV

Our vision is to see

have a personal relationship with Jesus.

We have made it our mission to do everything we can so that everyone can come to faith in Christ.

How To Follow Jesus

We believe God has always had it in His heart to take people on three-step spiritual journey:

1.

Life with Jesus
2. Like Jesus
3. More Like Jesus

“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
JOHN 1:12 NIV

1. Begin Life With Jesus

Sin breaks our close relationship with God. It causes us to fear God and try to live our lives outside of His will.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
ROMANS 5:8 NIV

God has already done His part to restore our relationship to Him. He took the initiative and He invites us to individually accept what He has done for us.

How do you become a follower?

I.

That God has not been at the centre of your life and ask Him to forgive your sins.
1 JOHN 1:9 NIV

II.

That Jesus died to pay for your sins, He rose from the dead, and is alive today.
ROMANS 10:9-10 NLT

III.

God’s free gift of salvation. Don’t try to earn it.
EPESIANS 2:8-9 NIV

IV.

Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour.
ROMANS 10:13 NIV

Real Christianity is about relationship, not religion.

When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives, we are choosing to put Him first over everything: finances, calling, sexuality, emotions, and preferences.

2. Be Baptized Like Jesus

One of the ways we display that Jesus is the Lord of our lives is through water baptism.

A.

the example set by Christ.
B. your changed life.

C.

your commitment publicly.

Water baptism declares publicly what has happened privately

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God decending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
MATTHEW 3:16-17 NIV

3. Become More Like Jesus

A lot of us have embraced the label ‘Christian’ but not the lifestyle. In Canada, 22.1 million* people identify as an Evangelical Christian or Catholic. However, only 13%** of Canadians of any religion attend a religious service weekly. It is much easier to take a label than a lifestyle. At EC, we embrace the Christian lifestyle, not just the label.

OUR FOUR HABITS:

Habit One: Grow in Spiritual Disciplines
We believe it is important for us to be personally growing in our relationship with God. Our relationship grows deeper with God as we spend time with Him.

We Recomment First Fiftreen:
I. Five minutes of

II. Five minutes of reading the
III. Five minutes of

Habit Two: Commit to Community
Community begins by being present and participating with other believers in three specific ways. These three elements of community are keys to growing in our relationship with God.

I.

We see the Church as God’s ‘Plan A’; when we are planted in the local Church, we can become all God intended for us to be.
II.
We believe real freedom requires friends. #DontDoLifeAlone
III.
We begin to make a difference with our lives when we begin to serve others.

“Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.”
- MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

Habit Three: Live a Spirit Led Life
The Holy Spirit empowers us to live supernatural lives.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
ACTS 1:8 NIV

The Holy Spirit’s Role in Our Lifes

I. The Holy Spirit is our

II. The Holy Spirit is our
III. The Holy Spirit is our

Habit Four: Give of Ourselves
The Gospel is the ultimate demonstration of God’s generous nature towards humanity. The Bible consistently teaches that God blesses us so that we may bless others.

Three Areas we are Called to Give

I. Give of our

II. Give of our
III. Give of our

Our Giving should be:

I.

Give First. Save Second. Live on the rest.
“Honour the Lord with all your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”
PROVERBS 3:9-10 ESV

II.

Choose a percentage and give it consistently.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it”
MALACHI 3:10 NIV

III.

Challenge yourself to up the percentage each year as a way to continue trusting God as He shows himself faithful.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
2 CORINTHIANS 9:6 NIV
