The Power of Faith in Christ

Read Galatians 3:1-14

Icebreaker — Share one absolute lie your parent(s) told you as a kid to keep you in line (Examples: “If you swallow gum, it’ll stay in your stomach for seven years!” Or “If you cross your eyes for too long, they’ll stay that way!”).

  1. Reflection: Are there specific ways this passage challenges your understanding of right standing before God? Are there areas in your life where you are tempted to rely on your works instead of Christ’s finished work?

  2. Living by Faith: Reflecting on God’s sovereignty, how does it comfort you to know your justification and sanctification are entirely rooted in Jesus’ grace and the Holy Spirit’s power?

  3. Purpose: How does recognizing God’s unchanging biblical promises strengthen your faith in His purposes for your life?

  4. Following Abraham’s example: Are you finding it easy or difficult to trust God this year, especially when the outcomes aren’t clear? How might God be leading you to step out in faith like Abraham?

  5. Worship: Verse 13 states, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.” Where in your life do you feel weighed down by expectations or rules? How does knowing Christ took that curse bring you freedom? Do you know with certainty you’ve received the freedom Christ offers? What are specific ways are you continually showing gratitude for Christ’s completed work of presenting you righteous before God through His life, death, resurrection, and reign?
