Spiritual Formation

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” —Paul, Romans 12.2

“We are being either transformed into the love and beauty of Jesus or malformed by the entropy of sin and death…To believe otherwise is an illusion; and to give no thought to this is to become dangerously close to wasting your life.” —John Mark Comer, Practicing the Way

“Spiritual formation in the Way of Jesus is how each of us is formed to be like Jesus and, in doing so, to be our deepest, truest self.” —John Mark Comer, Practicing the Way

“The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.” —Jesus, Luke 6.40

“Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” —Paul, 1st Timothy 4.7-8

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” —Paul, Galatians 5.22-23a

“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” —Jesus, John 15.4, The Message

“Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.” —Psalm 105.4

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” —Paul, 2nd Corinthians 3.18
